Dr. Mahendra Sharma is working as Professor with the Department of Management in the area of Strategic Management and Marketing. Dr. Sharma is Head of the Department since 1st July 2004.
He joined the Department as a faculty after working with leading FMCG & Garment MNC's for couple of years in various capacities in sales. Dr. Sharma possesses rich experience in the areas of Rural Marketing, Sales & Distribution Management, Retail Management and Consumer Behaviour. He has published 35 papers in National and International level Seminars & Conferences. He has several publications in refereed Journals both nationally and internationally. He was invited by Govt. of Manipur at Imphal to present a paper on "E-Governance" published at International Conference at Chandigarh, organized by British Council. He also has Five Case Study and a chapter in e-book to his credit. Dr. Sharma has attended Quality Improvement Programme (QIPs) on Marketing (3-AICTE Sponsored at NMIMS, Mumbai), Research Methodology (1- ICSSR at GIM, Goa), Communication Skills (1- AMA, Ahmedabad), Case - Writing (1- PIM, Gwalior, 3-VMPIM, 1-PIMR, Indore) and Teacher's Training Programme in Strategic Management (2-IIM (Lucknow) sponsored by SMFI).
Dr. Sharma was Coordinator of AIMS Western region Conference on "Building Competitiveness in an Inter-connected world" organized during April 2005 as also Convener and Expert of the Three National Case-Writing Workshop for Teacher's in Management during January 2006, March 2007 and March 2008 respectively at VMPIM. He has chaired tracks in various seminars and conferences.
Dr. Sharma is currently Dean- Faculty of Management Studies, Member , Board of Governors and Academic Council of Ganpat University. He is also a paper-setter and examiner of several examinations under university & other boards. Dr. Sharma is also assisting Hem. North Gujarat University, Patan in developing Management programs as Member of University's Board of Studies. He was also Nodal Officer for Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GCET 2006, 2007 and 2008) for Kherva Nodal Centre for MBA admission. He has been expert for Group Discussion and Personal Interview for Gujarat Common Entrance Test since 2004.
Dr. Sharma is on Advisory Board of Unhja Education Foundation, Unhja and MONAD University, New Delhi. He is Advisor to Golden Jubilee Education Foundation, Sidhpur and Xcellon Institute, Ahmedabad.
Dr. Sharma is Chairman of Doctoral and M.Phil. Program in Management of the University. He has been examiner to Ph.D. Thesis in Management for various Universities. He has seven registered students under him for Ph.D. work currently.
It was under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Sharma, Centre for Management Studies was created to offer industry-oriented focused Management Programs during 2006. Since then CMS has reached new heights by offer 5 focused MBA programs and several Diploma programs.
