One Day Faculty Development Programme

“Management Teachers 2015: New Age Teacher”

On July 02, 2012 Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS) – Gujarat Chapter and Faculty of Management Studies, Ganpat University had organized a one day faculty development programme on “Management Teachers 2015: New Age Teacher”. The objective was to improve the quality of Management Education by imparting contemporary teaching skills among the management teachers through lectures of eminent professors of India. This programme includes the lectures from eminent speaker’s and panel discussion. The programme received overwhelming response in terms of 93 participants across the state, including from the cities like Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Baroda, Valsad, Mehsana, Vijapur, Navsari, Patan etc. The programme was inaugurated by distinguished presence of Prof. (Dr.) Y. K. Bhusan (Director, Senior Advisor at IBS-Mumbai and concurrently Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University), Prof. (Dr.) Mohd Masood Ahmed (President AIMS & Principal, Deccan School of Management, Hyderabad), Prof. (Dr.) Bhavesh M. Patel(Dean, Amrut Mody School of Management, Ahmedabad University), Dr. Mahendra Sharma (Chairman, AIMS - Gujarat Chapter & Pro Vice – Chancellor, Dean (Management), Ganpat University) and Dr. S. O. Junare (Vice – Chairman, AIMS Gujarat Chapter & Director, Shri Jayrambhai Patel Institute of Management and Computer Studies, Gandhinagar).

In the inaugural function, Dr. Mahendra Sharma, Chairman, AIMS – Gujarat Chapter greeted all speakers and participants through the welcome speech. Then after, Prof. (Dr.) Y. K. Bhusan educated all the participants regarding the AIMS. For the detailing about the faculty development programme Prof. (Dr.) Mohd. Masood Ahmed delivered a splendid speech in the inaugural session and at the end Dr. S. O. Junare ended the inaugural function by vote of thanks.

The inaugural function was followed by introduction of the participants and photograph session.

The expert session was followed by panel discussion including Prof. (Dr.) Balabhaskaran, Executive Director, SEIL, Ahmedabad along with the speakers, on the topic Achieving Teaching Excellence

The participant attending the programme had registered themselves by filling up registration form and fees of Rs. 500. The participants were given executive folder, AIMS Brochure, AIMS membership form, Note on Benefits of AIMS membership, Notepad and Pen.

Valedictory ceremony is oragnised in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Y. K. Bhusan, Prof. (Dr.) Bhavesh M. Patel, Dr. Mahendra Sharma, Dr. S. O. Junare, and Dr. Balabhaskaran. Dr. Balabhaskaran summed up the programme proposed the vote of thanks.
